Paint That Front Door!

Real Estate has gotten a little whacky these days and home owners and others are resorting to some “out there” stuff such as voodoo dolls, feng shui and smudging.  Smudging gets rid of that nasty negative energy that’s keeping the buyers away. Professionals walk around your home with a smudge stick to wipe away the bad negative energy.  It works so well, professional Smudgers claim, it makes you wonder why they don’t teach it in real estate school. If Smudging or rearranging your furniture to fit your energy field does not work for you lets try something simple and inexpensive.

Last week we talked about how to price your home to sell and not sit so this week I want to get a little more specific.  Now that you have learned the art of price, the next step is to get them out of that car. You want the Realtor and her customer to come to a screeching halt when they see your abode.

One of the simplest and least costly ways to grab their eye is to paint the door a vibrant color that stands out from the rest of the trim.  I will tell you personally that I drove by a house that I sold a few months ago and the new owners have made that house so appealing I love to drive by it just to smile because it brightens up the neighborhood.  Add some interest to the front door by having a potted plant in a decorative container filled with flowers or greenery (no fake stuff PLEASE).  Don’t skimp on the hardware for your newly painted door and add some personality by installing a substantial attractive door knob and possibly a nice knocker or door chime.

If a person does a drive by and the scenery is inviting they just may want to drive right on in to your drive way and take a look.  Today try adding a touch of life and color to your front door and hopefully we will be bringing you a happy buyer.  Besides I think a professional Smudger is kind of pricey but a high energy happy Realtor is a good bet!!!
